Listen. Act. Transform
“Hi, I'm Mary Rivera a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. I enjoy helping others navigate the stresses of life and assisting them into a path of well-being.
Areas of focus includes working with children, adolescents and young adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, grief and loss, family relationship issues, substance use, self-harm and self-esteem.
I also specialize in helping couples take a step back from the brink of divorce and into safe, secure and lasting relationships. Couples often wait until things are extremely broken to seek help, but I believe, proactive counseling when times are good, can serve to strengthen the foundations of a relationship. That way, when tough times come (because they will), they can make it through, stronger than before. If your relationship is under extreme stress, there is hope, and we will work together to rebuild commitment, rediscover love, and revitalize passion. I utilize the Gottman Method during sessions. The Gottman Method was developed by the world-renowned psychologists Drs. John and Julie Gottman. It consists of two important parts: a thorough assessment and a series of effective interventions.
